What to Do Before Calling for Emergency Furnace Repair

Before calling Team Harding for emergency furnace repair, try these first:

Check that the furnace wasn’t accidentally switched off.

There should be an “On/Off” switch near the furnace. Confirm that it’s switched on.

Confirm the batteries in the thermostat aren’t dead.

A thermostat with dead batteries can’t communicate with the furnace.

Ensure your thermostat is set to “HEAT”.

A thermostat set on “COOL” mode could be the issue. Make sure it’s on “HEAT”.

Inspect the filter and change or clean if it’s dirty or clogged.

A clogged or dirty air filter can affect the performance of your furnace.

Make sure the exterior pipes/vents aren’t obstructed.

Obstructions of the outdoor unit can cause your furnace to fail.

If none of these resolve the issue, call for furnace repair.
