When the temperatures dip below freezing, people need to be able to get to the warmth and safety of their homes to escape the bitter cold temperatures. You can also try one of these fixes to try to get the warm air flowing in your home.
Check the Power: Your furnace needs power to work, so check to see that no fuses have tripped and that the furnace power switch is ON.
Check for Obstructions: New furnaces don’t vent through the chimney. Instead, they exhaust through the side of the home. If there’s a lot of snow, check to make sure the intake and exhaust pipe aren’t blocked.
Check the Thermostat: You’ll want to ensure that the thermostat settings are correct—that it’s set to HEAT—and also that there are working batteries. Incorrect settings or low batteries could affect the heating capabilities of your furnace.
Check Furnace Filter: Many furnace problems are a result of a neglected furnace filter. If you can’t remember the last time the filter was replaced, it’s a good idea to check and change the filter.
If the above DIY fixes didn’t resolve your heating problem, please call Team Harding! We’ll be happy to come out to diagnose and solve your no heat problem.
